During Easter weekend, I stayed at a lodge near a national park. The lodge offered spacious, well-decorated rooms with a mini kitchenette provided with a microwave, sink and fridge and a comfortable bed. The location was perfect, providing easy access to key tourist sites and a breathtaking view. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the on-site generator made sure there was no disruption during load-shedding.

The lodge lacked a restaurant or cafe onsite, which made it hard to find nearby places to eat. the lodge did not offer a swimming pool on premises, which in the hot weather would have been a nice added bonus.

Deo Resta is a hidden gem in Piet Retief - charming, spacious rooms, thoughtful amenities, and amazing hosts. Lizel went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, especially after our car accident. The breakfasts were legendary, and the little braai area was a nice touch. We will definitely be coming back!
